Parametric design of the 3D Knitting back
With the help of Grasshopper and GH-Python in Rhino, knitting patterns can be produced efficiently and with many design variations. These tools provide flexibility to control different parameters, which can create a 3D knitted back with multiple properties, useful for various functional purposes. For example, changing the overall elastic strength can be achieved by controlling the size of perforation globally. However, the Lumbar area requires more support, so local modifications can be made to downsize the holes and achieve a stiffer surface.
