Project Pocket VR aims to design a fully functional, lightweight, low-cost, portable VR headset compatible with S6 for use on the go and increasing consumer interest in virtual reality/3D content.

Inspired by a collapsible rubber cup, two of our mechanical engineers first came out with the basic folding structure for the VR headset. Then I took charge of the follow-up design based on their prototype. My work includes designing light-blocking hoods and integrating them into the folding structure, and refining the headset base's design.

After finish the first fully functional prototype, I started to look for a solution that makes the headset base compatible with all types of Samsung Galaxy smartphones. By looking through the dimensions from Galaxy 5 series to the recent s7 series, I designed a flexible belt attached to the headset base, which can fit different size of galaxy phones steadily,
