Zhejiang University | Experimental  Design Project

After the PEV project, I returned to Zhejiang University and started the Smart Wheel project, an extension of the project I did at MIT. The vehicles we designed in the Smart Wheel project are all two-wheeled vehicles based on self-balancing technology, aiming to explore some new features of future USV (Ultra Small Vehicle) to release the tension of nowadays urban transportation.

We first made a rough mock-up on a self-balance platform, which helped decide the vehicle's basic configuration. Then we adjust the mock based on Ergonomics considerations.

After that, we imported the data we got from the previous two-step in the 3D software and modeling the whole vehicle. Then we arranged all the parts into 2D and exported them to a CNC machine for cutting. Finial we assemble all the pieces and finish the prototype.
